Without him I wouldn't even have attempted this DIY. So finally, I'm successful in adding AUX-in to my head unit.

Instead of twisting and joining the cables, the wires should have been crimped to appropriate pins which go in the sockets. No taping or cable ties required, and also avoid the chitter chitter sound that appears when the twisted joint becomes a bit loose. Dear mnvvishwa , Nice DIY.
