As the petite hourglass I am with a heavy bust, the turtleneck ones are right out. And plaid? I like the look on others but it might be too unstructured for me. I do own one, like the pink style only mine is a taupe color, , which I pair with dark wash skinnies and tall brown boots. I love ponchos and wear them more than any other handknit. I just finished a new one and am wearing it today.

I do agree that they are not practical for layering but for mild winters they work quite well! It looks very edgy and non-boho with coated skinnies and UWP boots, and is great for plane or cold office.

I have a burgundy crochet poncho that I got at a charity swap and have yet to figure out how to wear, but the look is kind of fun and I could see a less-voluminous one working.

I also have one of those ruanas which I hardly ever wear but I have layered over a denim jacket as a sort of extra dramatic scarf. I have not seen myself being able to wear them, as I get swallowed up. I am pro poncho. My Missoni poncho was a breakout purchase for me and I enjoy wearing it. It generates significant positive compliments—maybe because it makes me looked happy and relaxed?

I much prefer oversized sweaters. I saw one online a ear or two ago that I just loved but have not seen any person that jumped. I can appreciate it on others and like it but its probably not something that I will purchase anytime soon.

I love all the solid color ones you show here and could imagine wearing any of them. Some of my sweaters are quite poncho-like already, so I would like to try this style—probably one with more of a sleeve, for comfort and flattery. Thanks for the suggestion, Angie! I LOVE the look on others. Although ponchos have had somewhat of a make-over, I have to say I stick by my old beliefs. I see more pros than cons in the one poncho I own! The problem is remembering to wear it.
